Iittala continues to release the extraordinary glass vases of the late Finnish architect Alvar Aalto in new colors and styles. Aalto, whose name means “wave” in Finnish, designed the now iconic undulating glassware in 1936 for a tableware competition in correlation with the following year’s Paris Exposition.
